Slowly, she comes to realize the island holds many secrets, including the fact her two lovers are, by night, creatures of the sea. And though the island seems a refuge, an old evil lurks in the shadows, waiting to snatch the trio's happiness away. Lilly, Chris and Brian must protect each other and overcome the evil not just to survive, but to claim the love they've found together.

About Amber Kallyn

One of those rare breeds, Amber Kallyn is an Arizona native who can trace her family's history through six generations in the state. She lives with her sexy husband, and their four very active children. Included in the menagerie are two cats (though there's always room for more) and two dogs. We won't count all the fish. She also writes urban fantasy under the name Higley Browne.

Amber loves the paranormal, from dragons to werewolves to vampires. She's currently at work on her next book, probably running around the house acting out a fight scene with her collection of swords and daggers. Or maybe, wishing she had claws to practice the other fight scenes.

A voracious lover of the written word, Amber found at an early age that she could read fast. Really fast. She devours novels by the day, novellas by the hour, and is always looking to get her hands on more.

An Interview with Amber Kallyn
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Amber, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Ocean Music and it's the first in your new Wet series. Where did the idea for the series come from?

AK: The WET series is a multi-author series by many different Changeling Press Authors. Ocean Music is the first one out. The idea started as paranormal romance around the ocean. =)

HH: How does Ocean Music kick off the series?

AK: Ocean Music is the story of two men, and the reincarnated soul of the woman they loved long ago, before they were cursed.

HH: What can you tell us about Lilly and why will readers relate to her?

AK: Lilly is a world-renowned violinist. Music is her life, her very heart. Born in New Orleans to a long line of musicians, she's grown up with tales of ghosts, witches and the supernatural. Yet, when she washes ashore on a magical isle, the sight of shapeshifters throws her off balance. She struggles not only with the feelings the men awake inside her, but also the resemblance she has to their long dead lover.

HH: What can you tell us about the two selkies who love her?

AK: Chris and Brian were good ol' Irish lads, until the woman who'd been part of their trio died. Her mother, a witch, cursed the two men to become immortal creatures of land and sea, trapped on the magical isle. Though they've been content with the love they have for each other for hundreds of years, the very sight of Lilly stirs up the past and changes everything.

HH: What else do you have in the works?

AK: A bunch of things, LOL, but not much time to work on them right now. I'm currently working on a vampire series, the first hopefully to come out later this year.

HH: How do you personally view the future of ebooks?

AK: I think they're definitely here to stay. Ebooks are great, especially as a way for authors to make the publishing process speed up, and reach more readers, quicker. For myself, considering I have books stuffed in every nook and cranny around my house, plus some, having a few hundred Ebooks on my tiny little kindle is revolutionary. I still buy my favorites in paper, though. And I don't believe paper books will ever become obsolete.

HH: How much of your day is devoted to your writing career?

AK: Right now, not much. I'm a full time student, and this semester I'm working full time as a student teacher in the classroom. I'm teaching HS Junior English and American Literature, LOL. Usually though, during the school year with the kidlets away, I get a good chunk of writing done, and also editing and trying to connect with readers : )

HH: What's your favorite way to interact with readers?

AK: I'm usually on twitter a few times a day @AmberKallyn I also blog every Monday about hot men, LOL. My favorite interactive site is the TRS Release Parties. The readers there totally rock, and are very verbal. I'm always looking for new ways to connect with readers in ways they enjoy. (And feel free to email me how you like to interact with authors : )

HH: Thank you for that. Any conference or appearance plans this fall?

AK: Not yet, but I'm beginning to schedule right now. I'll be more active in that area round November.

HH: Thank you!
