HH: Justus, thank you so much for talking with us. Your featured book is Lilith's Web and is part of your Masters series. First can you tell us about this series and how it started?
JR: I started this series about ten years ago. I can’t believe it’s been that long. I was curious about the BDSM lifestyle and did a ton of research on the subject. The series came about from that research. I have a wonderful overview of the series on my website www.justusrouxmasterseries.com.
HH: What do you like about Mistress Lilith?
JR: She is a strong yet loving woman. She is the perfect partner for Master Xanthos. I felt the BDSM community which Xanthos created needed a strong woman to help him manage it.
HH: What do you like best about Apollo and why will readers love him?
JR: Apollo’s love for Dante is quite beautiful, especially after everything he has been through. I like Apollo’s vulnerability, though he tries so hard to hide it from others.
HH: This series has a web site of its own. Tell us about it?
JR: I figured with 18 books in the series it was time for it to have its own website. The reader gets introduced to each Master and Mistress. There is of course excerpts, book trailer videos and plenty of eye candy for the reader to enjoy.
HH: What else do you have in the works?
JR: I’m working on the 19th book in the Master Series titled Love Hurts, it should be released by the end of July.
HH: With the rising popularity of ebook readers and devices like the iPad, what changes do you see coming in the romance genre?
JR: A greater variety of books for readers to enjoy.
HH: As a romance reader, what sort of stories do you personally prefer?
JR: I love paranormal romance books.
HH: Tell us about the best fan mail (email) you've ever gotten.
JR: It is hard to choose just one. I have been very lucky and have received numerous fan letters over the years. I love when a reader tells me they enjoy my books or how much a story has touched them. I think one of the best ones I ever received was a reader telling me how my stories got them through a difficult time in their lives, that for a few hours they escaped into the world I have created. I was very touched by the email.
I make it a point to answer every fan letter I receive. I am honored that a reader took the time to let me know they love my books.
HH: What are your favorite hobbies/activities these days?
JR: I have been so busy here lately I have very little free time. I do enjoy watching movies, putting on my i-pod and going for a hike, going shopping with my daughter, and playing the occasional online video game with her.
HH: Any vacation or appearance plans this summer?
JR: Me and my family will be going on a ton of small outings. A couple of them are; we are going to Kansas to visit my oldest son, and the Chicago museums to see the exhibits and I have research to do for a new series I will start working on. I would also like to go on some serious hikes in upper Michigan.
