Reviews for Soul Catcher
"I really enjoyed this read and look forward to the continuation of this saga. The secondary characters promise to be as interesting as Angel and Jacque, and I can't wait to read on. I'm definitely recommending this read to everyone!!!" - Happily Ever After Reviews
"Soul Catcher was the first book I read by Vivi Dumas, but won’t be my last. I liked the pacing of the book and loved the character development of not only the main characters, but the supporting ones. Dumas is currently working on the next book in the series, which hopefully will be released later this year. More information about The Dueling with the Devil series, as well as other books can be found on her website." - Blogging by Liza

An Interview with Vivi Dumas
By Holly Hewson for The Romance StudioHH: Vivi, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Soul Catcher. Where did you get the idea for this amazing story of a woman who made a deal with the devil and the demon she loves? VD: Thank you for having me. Soul Catcher really started when I was watch Top Model. I thought how wrapped up society is with the idea of beauty and how we put such an emphasis on it. I have two daughters who, like any girl, want to be beautiful, but I'm constantly trying to teach that there is more to a person than external looks. So, I thought up Angel and her journey through learning there is more to life than her external beauty.
HH: What can you tell us about Angel and why will readers be drawn to her? VD: I think Angel has a struggle many of us deal with as women. She starts with a lack of self-esteem, even when she was a beautiful model, she never felt good enough. Angel's self doubt stems from her mother and she must battle those demon. In the beginning, some people have a hard time with Angel. I think she toes the likeability line due to her obsession with her looks, but she truly grows and develops into a strong woman throughout the novel.
HH: What do you like best about Jacque and why will readers love him? VD: I love Jacque. He's been on and off with one woman (demon) for centuries. When we meet him, he has decided to take a break from women. He has his own insecurities due to not being full demon and thinks his strength is diminished because of it. He meets Angel and is immediately attracted to her, but knows being with a human is not a smart idea, especially for him. But he can't stay away and is willing to risk everything for her.
HH: How did you go about creating the world for these characters? VD: Most of my stories center around New Orleans. I love my Louisiana. I also knew a portion had to take place in Hell. It kind of just grew from there.
HH: What else do you have in the works? VD: Currently, I'm working on book 2 of the Dueling with the Devil series. I'm also working on a couple of short stories I hoping to submit.
HH: Tell us about your other pen name. VD: I got the Vivi because I needed something close to my own name. Dumas - I wanted something French and I love the Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. So, you have Vivi Dumas.
HH: Do you own an ebook reader or read on an electronic device? If so, what? VD: I own a Color Nook, which I love. I couldn't afford to go the Ipad route yet, but wanted something with a bit more flexibility than just an e-reader. The Color Nook fit the bill.
HH: As a romance reader, what sort of stories do you personally prefer? VD: I'm a book junkie, but I love my paranormal romance.
HH: What's your favorite guilty pleasure? VD: Food is my favorite guilty pleasure, especially chocolate. I would say shoes, but I don't feel guilty about my love of shoes.
HH: Any vacation or appearance plans this summer? VD: We always take our kids to the beach. They're getting older so it's nice to have them run off on their own and leave me and my husband to relax. I was hoping to make some conferences this year but life has hindered my ability to travel right now.
Thank you so much for having me. I love all the readers at TRS!
HH: Thank you!
