Mark and Luke are a couple for a few months. Luke wants to have a more active role in fighting magical beings. He also want to explore and be dominated in bed by Mark. But Mark is still dealing with his transformation and the changes it brought. And they have more problems to deal in the form of the Mark’s family.

Fire Dragon is the sequel to Dragon Food. In it, the main characters are a couple already but the relationship is very new (only a few months) and they are still defining what they want from each other. And they still have to deal with the Mark’s family (and his biological mother) and the changes he is undergoing.

I can not explain why but this story did not work for me. It started well but throughout the book I was distracted and I could not focus on the story. I was not enthralled with the story. But it was a good read.

What I liked most about in this story was the growth that both Mark and Luke had. Mark’s self-esteem increased after he allowed himself to accept that Luke loves him (and thar his loves Luke back) but he still has issues to solve. And Luke going after what he wants, trying to win its place as a strong partner in Mark’s life while at the same time he wants to try to be sexually submissive.

The story about the Mark’s family was interesting for providing a little bit about Mark's past but that’s it. I would prefer that the story had focused more on the relationship between the two. Overall, Dragon Fire was an okay book. It was not a book that stayed in my mind but it was not a bad read.
