Lacy and Chase have known each other for a long time but their relationship is one of teasing and arguing. Lacy works for Chase and Lacy has been attracted to him for most of her life. Chase just started seeing her as attractive when she came back to town. Lacy is in financial trouble because of her grandfather’s lawyer and her deadbeat, criminal dad is on the run. She wants nothing to do with him but knows that he might come looking for her anyway. Chase and Lacy start to become a little bit closer and they talk about her financial problems. Chase is having problems with a thief at the restaurant.

Lacy and Chase are well written characters and I absolutely fell in love with them from the very beginning. They have both had hard times and they both have inside struggles that they have to deal with. I really loved these characters and the way that they had to learn to interact with each other. They like to give each other a hard time and as their relationship got deeper and cuter. I really loved the plot also. It was well written and very engaging. There were plenty of twists and turns in this story to keep the reader guessing about what was going to happen next. Lacy and Chase’s relationship had the normal pitfalls that they had to go through and plenty that were not. There were some funny parts that made me laugh and a lot of dialogue that was funny. The sex was explicit and fairly frequent but not overly so. I felt that it added to the story and did not detract in any way. Lacy and Chase both had their emotions fully involved the entire time, even if they were in denial about them. This is part of a series but you do not need to have read the previous story to have full enjoyment of Lacy and Chase’s journey.
