Specialist Jack Russo, serving in Iraq, is sexually frustrated. Having to keep his needs in check, being a closeted gay man, is getting difficult. When Private First Class Shawn Farrelly joins his unit, he's ready to explode, literally. Shawn, a fledgling young soldier looks to Jack for guidance. When a rescue mission goes astray, they escape to an abandoned shed to await rescue. Uncertainty turns into passion when the men give into the fear that life might end for them in an old abandoned shed. This was a very interesting read from an author I haven't read before. I thought the narration was strong and very expressive in getting the story across. The two main characters have great appeal and are realistically written. Their connection as platoon members, friends and eventually lovers is the core of this story. I knew without reading his bio the author had personal experiences in the military. It's so strongly evident in the writing. I like the action sequences. The sex scenes are solid, powerful and at times, pretty passionate. The story is a earnest look at life in the military with men who like men and have to suppress that part of their nature. I found all aspects of this story appealing and it held my interest. I look forward to reading more books by this author. Overall rating:
