Jayden Delko rescued Violet from his jerk of a roommate, Bruce, and then moved in with her. It was hard to keep up the platonic relationship when he was falling in love with her but he didn’t want to lose her. When Bruce got violent a second time, she nearly died and, with his visiting brothers, Jayden turned her to his kind. Violet only knows that her best friend is now her lover. She doesn’t know how close she came to dying. Now the brothers have to deal with her feelings, theirs, and the fact that Jayden hasn’t gotten around to telling her what he is, or what she’s become…a bear shifter, and mate to all three Delko brothers. I really enjoyed this story. It’s a whole new twist on being accidentally changing. For one thing, there are reasons why Declan and Brandon aren’t sure if they are her mates at first. While other “being changed” stories deal first with the person dealing with and accepting the change, the Delko brothers are intent on making Violet fall in love with each of them before they tell her what happened. It’s interesting because it’s such a different view of becoming a shifter. The characters are all nicely defined and I liked each one. The romance of having three men wanting one woman is especially well written to show their personalities and needs. Ms. Blake makes it natural and not contrived at all. The story and settings, with the associated limitations of their jobs, add to the frustrations and tension. The book is part of a series and I can highly recommend the other two, Suddenly Wolf and Suddenly Wolf, Too. All three deal with accidental changings and the aftermath, all in different and unique ways. I was very pleased with the whole series. I think you’ll enjoy these shifter stories. Overall rating:
