Derreck Darbonne was a troubleshooter on an oil rig. He’d worked very hard to get to this high-ranking point in his career. Now he was being framed for a murder that happened on board the ship owned by Alamo Oil. Suddenly a variety of things happened which seemed as if Derreck was not only being framed but was also being targeted. Amber Meredith had worked very hard to get through Coast Guard training. Now she had the perfect life—sort of. She lived in this big house with her grandmother. She rented out an apartment to a young man for the past two years but she seldom saw him. When she returned from school, it seemed her tenant was always out on a job. Then she was assigned her first big job with the Coast Guard team—find the person responsible for murdering the man found onboard the ship. All evidence pointed to Derreck Darbonne as the murderer. This book was quite diverse and fast-paced. Ms. Anne Greene presented activities which indicated how very different these characters were. The main characters were interested in each other. However, their attraction was overwhelmed by their dedication to their individual careers. There were myriad characters which complemented the telling of the story. This action-packed book was written in such a way that all ages can read it. The inspirational parts were not overwhelming, but were subtlety explained. The various activities of the characters kept the book from getting stagnant. I recommend this book for those who enjoy a sweet love story. You won’t be disappointed.
