Lauren McLean has finally returned to her late grandfather's mountain cabin where she spent so many wonderful times. Up until now, it was just too painful and his passing is still a heavy weight on her heart. To recapture her memory, Lauren is traveling the old trails and falls through the ice into a frozen stream. The next things she knows she is waking up to pain, a mostly naked man and a lynx. Willem Frost strikes a chord in Lauren, a hazy memory she can't quite grasp, but she is absolutely certain that he is what her life has been missing.

Jocelyn Adams has written a very sweet and endearing story that puts a romantic spin on the Jack Frost tales. Lauren was always longing for something missing in her life and when her pain and discontent became to heavy a burden, it was in the snow covered forests where she found solace, even when it could prove harmful. Lauren had a habit of almost dying in the snow, well not a habit really , but for most people once would be enough. The mystery that Willem exudes would be more than enough to capture my attention, but he also had a very charming innocence about him. He was very concerned with not overwhelming Lauren, which I found incredibly heartwarming. And of course any hero who saves an orphaned Lynx kit to raise is outstanding in my book. I certainly enjoyed this little jewel of a story and have no problem at all giving it a hearty recommendation.
