| Cassandra Pendleton, Cass, is having a rough time. She's out of a job, broke and is temping for a nanny agency. Jamison Dalton, or Jaime, an up and coming quarterback for a Miami pro football team needs a new personal assistant. His friend runs the temp agency and sends Cass his way. Cass and Jaime have been at each other's throats since they were in kindergarten. She tries to turn him down, but he throws what seems like a bucket of cash at her and she gives in and takes the job.
I was hooked from the first page! Ms. Celeste wrote such a powerful story! The characters she created, Alicia, Helen (Jaime's Mother), Gloria (Cass's Mother) and of course the football players on the team were really fun. When the story began I kind of felt like slapping some sense into our girl Cass because she was making me a little crazy. Jaime had his moments, but he was a good hero. Between the two of them there was an incredible amount of growth to be done, to be experienced and to be learned from. They had more than just incredible chemistry and those pages were just hot! This book made me laugh, made me cry and made me hold my breath. I was very happy to have read this and be introduced to Ms. Celeste (no, I hadn't read anything else written by her). I will point out that having grown up in Florida I am a huge Miami Dolphins fan, so even though they were not named as the team Jaime plays for I am willing to assume. I finished reading this on a Sunday and that day the Dolphins won their first game! So all in all, I loved this! I just wish I could convince Ms. Celeste to write stories where the hero plays for Denver... or for Chicago... Even writing this review leaves me with a smile as reading the story did.
